Temporary COVID-19 Closure Extension and Online Classes

Chamberlain School of Ballet | Plano TX-34.jpg

Dear Chamberlain School of Ballet students, families, and friends:

As you may know, Chamberlain School of Ballet follows closings of Plano Independent School District.  As such, PISD and CSB have currently closed school through April 3rd.  As we see reports of the virus’ spread and states/counties continue to move to sheltering in place; it is reasonable to prepare for that date to extend. We hope to reopen as soon as is healthy and safe for all involved. However, this does not mean the dancing and learning will stop.

Along with a team of Chamberlain School of Ballet instructors, I have been filming classes through JCV Productions. As these classes are finished editing this week, school registrar Carolyn Cox will be contacting school families via email. These classes will cover up through April 6th. At that point, I will be updating on our plan of action moving forward online and, possibly, at our facility through private instruction.

It is important to try and maintain a sense of normalcy for all of us during this difficult time. We are eager to continue providing you and your family with top quality dance instruction. We also know providing our families with a positive and educational use of time can go a long way towards alleviating stress as many are shifted into work from home situations. Additionally, we are striving to continue to provide for our staff and vendors who rely on us to survive.

Some have committed to continue supporting CSB with their semester two tuition payments during the mandatory closure due to the outbreak. These families are greatly appreciated for their role in helping to ensure the school is still in business once we have all weathered this unfortunate pandemic. Additionally, families may opt to enroll in Chamberlain School of Ballet's new online service which will begin the week of March 30. We are planning and filming a curriculum of courses which will be accessible, affordable, and, hopefully, adored.

Please contact Carolyn Cox @ carolyn@chamberlainschoolofballet.com or by cell 972.679.4740 on your plans and if you want the videos.  If you would like to continue to support CSB, we can arrange for a payment plan for the remainder of Semester Two. This will help ensure that Chamberlain School of Ballet will continue in the future.  We do realize that not everyone is in a position to do this.   For those families who have been paying by the installment plan, Payment 7 has paid your account thru March 15, so there are no refunds for that payment.  Performance Fees are on hold right now.  They will be refunded if the Spring Performances are unable to be held.  These refunds will start processing on May 30.

If we are able, the Spring Performances will be 2 different days.  On May 3 from 1:30-3:00 pm at the Courtyard Theater, the following classes will have their performance:  Pre-Ballet-Tuesday 4-4:45 pm, Pre-Ballet-Wednesday 4:30-5:15 pm, Pre-Ballet-Wednesday 5:15-6:00 pm, Pre-Ballet-Saturday 9:15-10:00 am, Ballet-Monday 4:00-5:00 pm, Ballet-Tuesday 5:00-6:00 pm, Ballet-Saturday 10:00-11:00 am, Ballet-Saturday 11:00-12:00 pm, Musical Theater Dance-Monday 5:00-6:00 pm, and Young Men's Class-Friday 4:00-5:00 pm.

For all the other classes, the performances will be on May 20 at the Eisemann Center with a dress rehearsal at the ballet school on May 17.

We are a loving community through it all, and I know there is a time coming where we can all dance in celebration. Thank you to each and every one of you who have reached out during these times of transition. I very much look forward to rolling out our catalog of online classes and videos. As your families are all together and dealing with the impact this current outbreak will certainly bring, just ask Ms. Kathy to ring the bell and start class!

Thank you for your continued support,

Kathy Chamberlain
