Serving north Texas for over 40 years

Founded by Kathy Chamberlain

Since 1977, Chamberlain School of Ballet has earned a reputation as the principal pre–professional ballet school of North Texas. Providing dance training through several techniques and disciplines; the school fosters a creative and artistic atmosphere which shines through the lives of dancers and alumni. Benefiting from rigorous training, dancers develop self–discipline, healthy bodies, self confidence, and an appreciation for the arts. Our dancers are also awarded extended performance opportunities through which they can showcase their skills, progress, and talent.

Chamberlain students advance themselves both artistically and personally. Each year, school students are awarded scholarships to prestigious colleges and universities. Dancers also regularly receive summer study scholarships with elite ballet companies around the world and country. Many graduates have gone on to establish professional careers with well–known dance companies and Broadway productions. Founder Kathy Chamberlain is an internationally recognized figure in the world of classical ballet, a former recipient of the prestigious Ford Foundation Scholarship to the School of American Ballet — the official School of the New York City Ballet, and lifetime achievement awards from the city of Richardson and Dance Council of North Texas.

We are proud to offer many forms of dance beyond classical and contemporary ballet. Since our inception in 1977, we have been continuously expanding our curriculum to include many forms of dance. Versatility is demanded by current trends of the professional dance world.  While based in the tradition of the ballet art form, the school is progressive and in keeping with those trends.  An expansive multi-disciplined program is offered including classical ballet, pre-ballet, tap, jazz, modern, creative dance, creative movement, choreography/composition, musical theatre dance, and an open teen/adult ballet program. The goal of our program is to encourage self-confidence and appreciation as well as a love for dance that will last a lifetime.

Do I Have To Be Good At Dance To join?

We welcome everyone who is interested in furthering their education in dance, no matter what their skill level. If you want to learn, we want to teach you! You may not be center stage as next season’s sugar plum, but we will do our best to help you cultivate your love for the arts.

Do You Only Offer Ballet Classes?
