To ensure placement a non-refundable deposit of $100 is due by May 1, 2025. The non-refundable deposit will be applied towards the tuition. A fee of $50 is due upon registration for new students. Class placement is limited.

Dress Code:
Ballet and Beginning Variations:
Female dancers are to wear black leotard, pink or skin toned tights and pink or skin toned ballet shoes for all ballet classes. Long hair must be neatly secured in a bun. Short hair needs to be secured away from the face.
Male dancers are to wear shorts or black tights, white t-shirt and black or white ballet shoes for ballet classes.
Jazz, Musical Theater, Creative Movement:
Any color leotard, fitted jazz-style pants or shorts, black or tan split-sole oxford style jazz shoes. Female dancers are encouraged to wear their hair in a ponytail.

GUEST TEACHERS
JUNE:
Dede Barfield
Born in Ft. Worth, Texas, Ms. Barfield began her training in Ft. Worth with Gayle Corkery and continued at the Etgen Atkinson School in Dallas. At the age of 14, she began studying during the summers at the School of American Ballet in New York City and by the age of 16, she move there to study exclusively.
Ms. Barfield joined the Pennsylvania Ballet in 1984, was promoted to Soloist in 1987 and to Principal in 1990. Her repertoire includes a wide variety of classical roles including Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Myrtha in Giselle, Vera in Robert Weiss’ full-length production of Winter Dreams, Les Sylphides, the title role in Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella and Juliet in John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet. On June 12, 2004, she gave her last performance as a professional dancer as her favorite role of Odette/Odile in Christopher Whealdon’s Swan Lake.
Since leaving the Pennsylvania Ballet, Ms. Barfield has been busy teaching at Bryn Mawr College, The Performance Garage at Jeanne Ruddy Dance, The South Jersey Ballet School and with the Pennsylvania Ballet’s Outreach Program. She has been a guest teacher for the Chamberlain Ballet in Plano, Texas, the Country Day School in Ft. Worth, the Brandywine Ballet and the Dance Theater of Pennsylvania. Ms. Barfield also taught ballet classes at the University of Las Vegas during the 2007 Spring semester.
In addition to Ms. Barfield’s extensive ballet training and experience, she has studied Pilates since 1979 and completed a 2-year advanced teacher training seminar with her mentor of 20 years, Karen Carlson. She is certified in all apparatuses and mat. She has been with the Ballet Conservatory since 2007.
She guest teaches at Huntsville Ballet, Chamberlain Ballet, and CPYB to name a few.
Isabel Wallace-Green
Originally from Houston, Texas, Isabel Wallace-Green began dancing at Houston Ballet Academy where she studied for nine years. She graduated summa cum laude from the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program with a dual degree in Dance and African/African American Studies. Isabel performed with New Chamber Ballet, Urban Souls Dance Company, and was an ensemble member of The Radio City Christmas Spectacular. She joined DBDT: Encore! before becoming a company member with Dallas Black Dance Theatre in 2021. While in Texas, Isabel partnered with University of Houston and Texas Southern University art museums to premiere her first solo show titled Resilience. She joined Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in 2023 where she is currently a company member.
Isabel remains passionate about sharing her craft with young artists. She has served on faculty and taught at various institutions including Chamberlain School of Ballet, Houston Ballet Academy, Institute of Contemporary Dance Houston, and was a teacher’s assistant at The Ailey School Junior Division. In 2022, she curated a summer internship program, working one-on-one with two high school students to expand exposure to performing arts careers. After a couple years away, Isabel is extremely excited to return to Chamberlain this summer!
Julia Meister
Julia Meister was raised in Lake Elmo, Minnesota and began dancing at St. Croix Ballet. She continued her training as a New Artist at Next Generation Ballet in Tampa, Florida under Peter Stark, Philip Neal, Laurie Jones, and Ivonne Lemus, performing leading roles in Coppélia, Giselle, and George Balanchine’s Donizetti Variations. She also attended summer courses at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Miami City Ballet School, and National Ballet School of Canada. From 2017-2019, Julia studied on scholarship in the Professional Division at Pacific Northwest Ballet School under the direction of Peter Boal, performing in both Pacific Northwest Ballet productions and works by Margaret Mullin and Kiyon Ross. Upon graduation, she danced with Diablo Ballet for two seasons. Her repertoire with the company included George Balanchine’s Tarantella Pas de Deux, Penny Saunders’ “Sur le Fil”, and other ballets by Julia Adam and Sean Kelly. Julia joined Ballet Tucson in the fall of 2024 and has performed in works by Justin Peck, Andrea Schermoly, and Chieko Imada.
