Every Fall and Spring semester, Chamberlain Ballet commissions brand new artistic works from renowned established artists and choreographers for festival adjudication and annual performances.

They say great minds think alike, and we like to think we keep good company with our common kinship with the fantastic, vibrant, ever youthful Jamal Story. Jamal has been a part of the Chamberlain family for decades, and has returned to Dallas to create a NEW work to the music of Joplin.

Jamal has had a wonderful career dancing and performing with artists such as Cher, Madonna, Donald Byrd, Dallas Black Dance Theater, and on Broadway.

Chamberlain Ballet is proud to host Jamal as our 2023 Spring Artist in Residence. His new work will be premiered at Sleeping Beauty Wakes.
