Fall Classes Enrolling Now!

Chamberlain School of Ballet is taking registration for the fall.

We are incredibly excited to begin our fall semester. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, the in-studio classes will have limited students in them, and we also have to stagger our classes to keep the number of people in the building to a minimum.

As such, class sizes will be smaller.  We will add additional class units to almost every level in order to restrict classroom occupancy to comply with state and local regulations. Class units will range in size from approximately 9 to 15 students depending on the studio space used for the class.

This school year we will only be able to offer In-Studio Pre-Ballet, Ballet (once a week), Ballet (multiple times a week), Jazz, and Tap. Depending on class enrollment, these classes will be offered online along with Creative Movement.

We are not able to offer Mommy & Me, Musical Theater Dance, Modern/Contemporary, and Composition classes. As the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted we might be able to add some of these classes back into our schedule. For the intermediate/advanced levels of students, we plan to hold workshops in Modern/Contemporary and Musical Theater Dance throughout the year.

To register your dancer for fall, please email the completed registration form (see below) to school registrar Carolyn Cox - carolyn@chamberlainschoolofballet.com.

If you have already filled out a registration form for the summer, we do NOT need another one filled out.

What we do need is to indicate what your dancer wants to take:

Ballet       Jazz       Tap

All students will be placed into classes according to age and similar skill set/technique proficiency.

A brief note about class assignments: Our faculty strives to ensure that every student is placed in the class level that is suited to their individual development, and sometimes that level is the same as the previous year.  Repeating is required when the student has not mastered the curriculum material, demonstrated enough progress to proceed to the next level, or developed the necessary physical strength. A repeated level is a perfect opportunity, especially in a refocused COVID-19 season, for the student to spend an extra year working to master the curriculum.  Repeating a level should not be viewed as a setback. It is us trying to springboard you forward with more momentum towards things like full college scholarships or professional company placements. Two paths which we have paved multiple times over.

Kathy Chamberlain is working hard to have a fall schedule that will accommodate as best we can. By having your information in a timely manner, it helps us with planning.  The 2020-2021 school year will being on Monday, August 17.

Thank you for understanding and being patient with us as we try to navigate this new world of social distancing.
