Founded by Kathy Chamberlain
Since 1977, Chamberlain School of Ballet has earned a reputation as the principal pre–professional ballet school of North Texas. Providing dance training through several techniques and disciplines; the school fosters a creative and artistic atmosphere which shines through the lives of dancers and alumni. Benefiting from rigorous training, dancers develop self–discipline, healthy bodies, self confidence, and an appreciation for the arts. Our dancers are also awarded extended performance opportunities through which they can showcase their skills, progress, and talent.
Chamberlain students advance themselves both artistically and personally. Each year, school students are awarded scholarships to prestigious colleges and universities. Dancers also regularly receive summer study scholarships with elite ballet companies around the world and country. Many graduates have gone on to establish professional careers with well–known dance companies and Broadway productions. Founder Kathy Chamberlain is an internationally recognized figure in the world of classical ballet, a former recipient of the prestigious Ford Foundation Scholarship to the School of American Ballet — the official School of the New York City Ballet, and lifetime achievement awards from the city of Richardson and Dance Council of North Texas.
Chamberlain School of Ballet is the official training academy of Chamberlain Ballet, a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization which focuses on elite training for our older dancers, outreach education, and productions in which our students perform.

NEWS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
For Which Ages Do You Offer Classes?
We offer classes for ALL ages. From our Mommy and Me dance starting at 18 months, to our open enrollment program for adults, we have a dance class for everyone. Even Ms. Kathy’s father used to take ballet well into his 70’s! He started his ballet “career” in his 60’s.
Do You Need Dance Experience To Start Classes?
No, not at all! We have many new students of all ages begin classes throughout the year. We are more than happy to welcome you or your child/student, and we will happily place you or your child into a class fitting your abilities.
Do I Have To Be Good At Dance To join?
NO! That’s why we’re here. We welcome everyone who is interested in furthering their education in dance, no matter their skill level. If you want to learn, we want to teach you! You may not be center stage as the sugar plum (we usually have a guest artist from NYCB or ABT), but we will do our best to help you cultivate your love for the arts.
Do You Only Offer Ballet Classes?
We have many programs including tap, jazz, modern and contemporary, musical theater dance, and choreography. We have classes for all ages and skill levels. We even have open drop-in classes for adults!
Chamberlain School of Ballet is so excited to welcome Juliet Hay, Alexander Kaden, Lori Bodine Benold, and Omoniyi Obioha to faculty for summer classes!
